Phaze Future aka Phaze 4000 is a proud New York City native, producer/composer, MC, educator and taste maker with an eclectic ear.   

Phaze arrived on the new York independent Hip-Hop scene in the early 2000's as part of the group Network Reps. They released a series of singles on Nervous Records (Home to Black Moon, Smif-n-Wesson, and Polyrhythm Addicts). Soon after, Phaze future and fellow Network Rep Tru Pro created the hip-hop duo and production team Smash Mechanics. The groups jazz and funk influences married old school sample based production with tinges of  space age effects and 80's synth pop aesthetics.
 

Phaze has produced for a wide spectrum of artists, from Hip-Hop:(Ghostface, Big Daddy Kane, Dj Spinna, Stat Quo,) to R&B/Funk (Teddy Riley, Nucleus); from House and Techno (Dj Scribbles, KMD) to Alt Rock (Regina Spektor, Langhorne Slim). His tracks have been featured in hit video games- (State of Emergency/Rockstar Games) T.V.-(World Series of Poker/ NBC, C.S.I./ CBS) independent films and commercials worldwide.

In addition to his work in production and performance Phaze dedicates his time to teaching Hip-Hop and music intensives to students in public schools throughout NYC. His latest student project "Beat Sprouts" has helped to raise money for VH1 Save the Music. Phaze received his BFA in studio composition and production from the SUNY Purchase conservatory of music.
